How to Create an Easy Holiday Dinner Table Setting

Dinner will be served (and in style no less) with this simple, yet elegant table setting perfect for Christmas dinner.

Whether you are planning on having a formal dinner or casual Christmas lunch, setting a table for any such occasion can be overwhelming for some. But you can actually create a beautiful tablescape that is both easy and affordable. I always like to work with what I already have in order to create a look that is unique and one of a kind. Then, you can add on if there were certain pieces you wanted to get to complete a look you were aiming for.

If you are looking for a traditional simple elegant look, than look no further. I opted for a natural but modern look for this tablescape, with natural looking pine (even though all are faux). You could easily set this table at the last minute too, as it requires minimal prep time. It starts with a large swag faux pine piece in the center of the table. You could also just use pine garland to extend the length of the table!

I then stuck a few individual pine and cedar pieces in to give it a bit fuller look, as well added larger pinecones. I set the candles on it after the fact. If you don’t have pillar candles, try taper candlesticks, or small votive candles. Or do a combination of different sizes for added interest!

There are a lot of ways to build on from the simple look I created if you are opting for more: you could add a table runner first before you set the centerpiece if you don’t want such a bare table. And adding glassware to each setting is also an option, especially if you are using plain candles as I did without glass candle holders — adding nice stemware like wine glasses will easily dress up the table with little to no effort! I have linked some of the THE MOST affordable wine glasses I have found below.

For my look, I used a lot of my go-to staple items, like the taupe metallic patterned napkins. I found these at Home Goods a year ago, but I have linked some very similar ones I have found to accomplish the same look. This overall table would also look great with gray napkins, so I linked some of those below too.
