Livable Luxe Living Room
Luxury : the state of great comfort and extravagant living. Ahh…the good life. Sometimes, the idea of luxury for the home seems unachievable and not practical for the everyday living. But the look of high style and elegance, when paired with certain accents and materials, can bring about what I like to call livable luxury — a look of luxe that is still relaxing and not just a room to look at with a “don’t touch” sign.
This Livable Luxe living room look is a great example of how to achieve that perfect balance — it is luxurious and modern while also being a room you can still sit down in and relax. This is a nice color palette to work with as well, as it features rich neutral tones with a bold pop of bright chartreuse and pistachio green. Pairing those with the bright white elements is what takes it to the next level and a more luxe look.
Key Pieces I love for this look:
One of the key pieces to making this look work the acrylic coffee table. I feature a few options below for you like this one from Lamps Plus. It can really open up a space and is a nice alternative to glass (this particular one is so unique because it actually still features glass on the top) and there’s no denying the ultra chic look it adds to a space! If you aren’t sure you are ready to invest in an acrylic coffee table, you can consider small and more affordable side tables as a way to bring this element to your space. Modern glass and crystal elements are also used with acrylic and all work together to really add high style to this space, as well as brightening up a room.
I think natural wovens are always a great addition to a room to make it feel livable, like the tan jute area rug for this look, which is great for making the space feel inviting and comfortable. And in speaking of feeling comfortable, opting for a white slipcovered modern sofa is a perfect way to add the clean, stylish look you want with modern style, but in a lightweight fabric intended for sitting. And in keeping with the color tones, the rich brown wood accessories like the wall mirror and floor lamp is another way to add natural elements to this livable style.
Art in the neutral tones helps bring the look together and adds to the style of the room without being over the top.
