How to Work Wicker Into The Home

Gone are the days of wicker furniture being only reserved for the outdoor patio. With the wonderful natural texture you get from this weaving method, you are seeing the emergence of wicker being utilized inside the home more and more. Adding texture within a space is essential for crafting an interesting, layered room, and when you incorporate natural texture like you get with wicker, you can make a room feel livable & well-crafted. Often there is some confusion as far as what is wicker and what is rattan. Wicker is actually the style & implementation of using natural materials, such as the rattan plant, woven together to craft items like furniture and baskets — which means you truly have endless ways to work wicker into your space. I’m sharing some of my favorite ways to bring this look alive in your own space. From the classically chic wicker chairs that are still wonderful staples for any sunroom to modern wicker design options to chic scalloped & sculpted styles, & more, here’s the best ways to enhance the home with wicker…

1

scalloped wicker tables

This SCALLOPED WICKER CONSOLE TABLE is one example of the sculpted look you get from wicker. Known as the Trompe L’oeil (or “ghost”) style of wicker tables, it gives a whole new way to rethink wicker, adding unbelievable texture and interest to a room.

You can also find similar scalloped looks in the form of other types of tables like with this SCALLOPED ROUND OTTOMAN and this SCALLOPED RATTAN SIDE TABLE.

wicker dining chairs

Wicker dining chairs are a perfect way to give an everyday dining space or breakfast nook a casual, down to earth touch that will balance well with more elevated dining tables and decor.

For a more modern look, these GRAY DANISH CURVE WICKER SIDE CHAIRS offer a fresh new take on wicker for the dining room.

wicker coffee tables

A woven coffee table is a great way to draw in the eye for a living room, sunroom, even a home office or family room, offering a little less expected option when it comes to a coffee table. Go for a cottage chic style like with this SCALLOPED EDGE WICKER COFFEE TABLE or create a natural modern look with a ROUND WICKER COFFEE TABLE for the perfect way to do casual cool style.

wicker accent stools

The perfect way to add a touch of natural texture to any room is with a woven accent stool like with this WOVEN STOOL. It’s a great way to liven up an entryway, or can simply be added to a living room to serve as extra seating or as a side table.
