There are a lot of trends to continue into the new year when it comes to interior design. From colors to fabrics & finishes to decor, here are some of my favorite trends that will make their mark in 2024…
01
the year of brown
Brown is having a moment currently and that will continue throughout the new year. Chocolate brown in particular is on the forefront more than ever, serving as a bold neutral replacement to gray colors in the home. From rich brown furniture like this MORRIS CHOCOLATE BROWN BOOKCASE or this tufted STELLA UPHOLSTERED OTTOMAN , brown is a timeless choice for furniture that will last for years to come. For a decor update, a bold art piece like this modern DOWNTOWN BROWN PAINTING can serve as a neutral focal point to elevate a room’s style. Brown is also being seen in more new interesting wallpaper looks, like this HAND DRAWN BROWN RUST LEAVES WALLPAPER that would be perfect for anywhere you want a bold look that is still neutral enough to not be overpowering.

full on florals
Bring on the florals, and the larger the better. Bold maximalist florals is a trend that is being seen incorporated into the home in a big way for 2024. A large blooming painting like this VINTAGE FRAMED FLORAL PAINTING or this FLORAL ARRANGEMENT II is a great way to liven up your walls with a statement piece. Textiles are even taking this floral trend on —a timeless piece like this CLEMENCE FLORAL LOUNGE CHAIR gives a nod to classic charm with its floral pattern and for a smaller dose of floral, a beautiful pillow like this MARIN BOTANICAL PILLOW is an easy way to update a sofa or bed. To go for a dramatic update, botanical wallpaper like this PEACH WISTERIA WALLPAPER or this RED AND CLAY TULIP GARDEN WALLPAPER can take any space to the next level.

curved furniture
In recent years, creating a cozy home became much more of a focus than years past, and this goal will continue throughout 2024. Cue in curved furniture, that is now on the rise, and helps to offer that sense of comfort for a space and soften up a room, without sacrificing in style. A modern yet timeless sofa like this BALBOA UPHOLSTERED SOFA CHAISE SECTIONAL offers the additional benefit of a chaise to show one way to take advantage of this curved trend. It’s also great to mix furniture styles together for a more interesting styled room, such as pairing a tailored sofa with a pair of modern curved accent swivel chairs like this GIDEON LEATHER SWIVEL ARMCHAIR.

art deco revamp
The art deco era is getting a revamp. With inspiration from those captivating, gilded ages being modernized for today’s time, the end result is a fresh way to add elements of this time period to the home. From standout art deco inspired wallpaper like this ART DECO WALLPAPER to geometric patterns like this VALENCIA INDOOR/OUTDOOR RUG , a fun pattern can give you a dose of this trend that can easily be worked with other design styles. Rich textiles can also help create a more timeless, refined look and I love these ROWAN DINING CHAIRS for creating that look for a dining room. A deco inspired furniture piece like this MERRIT DRESSER is a chic way to update a bedroom with a rich wood piece that adds interest and modern style to the space.

livable opulence
The understated look of opulence has been on the rise and will continue to be a strong trend for design for 2024. What I refer to as livable opulence is the addition of elegant decor, rich textiles, polished sophistication with your everyday living space for a timeless, old world look that is anything but dull. Consider classic piped edge bedding like this EUROPEAN PIPED BEDDING DUVET COVER for an easy way to update & elevate the bedroom. Rich tapestry textiles like this ENGLISH TAPESTRY VERDURE PILLOW COVER is a small dose of richness for any sofa for bed. You can never go wrong with marble when looking to add elegance, and this MACKELSON SIDE TABLE is the perfect quaint little table to accompany any accent chair in the home.

bold hues
Go big and go bold. When it comes to color, bold and deeper hues are on the rise, offering a great excuse for you to add interest to your home in a bold new way. Consider a textured wallpaper like this BURGUNDY WOVEN WALLPAPER for the ultimate way to go bold with a room. Jewel toned accents can be small additions that can also make a stylish statement — whether it is a sleek modern CERAMIC REACTIVE GLAZE TRAY or a DEEP BLUE TABLE LAMP or even a COLORED VASE , a little can go a long way to elevate a tabletop, side table, or nightstand. And I love a mix of bold hues in the form of a beautiful painting like this ORCHARD ABSTRACT CANVAS WALL ART that can help you bring together a room.
