Setting an Elegant Table for Thanksgiving
‘Tis the season for family gatherings and celebrations. As Thanksgiving is soon upon us, I wanted to share a great table styling that is both elegant and comfortable for you and your family. I love a good excuse for a table styling (especially for a reason to showcase fancy gold chargers and plates) and created this Thanksgiving look for my parents’ dining room. Naturally, my design associate, Champion Benoit, was by my side for any necessary decisions and feedback because he’s always good for that.
For this look’s centerpiece, I feature natural organic elements like eucalyptus, mini oranges, faux olive branches, and mini pumpkins that I paired with candles. I really wanted to feature the oranges as a key color and element so I styled each plate with one orange and a couple of eucalyptus leaves — I like that it looks festive & fitting for Thanksgiving, but is a bit of a different look than just pumpkins.
I used a wooden bread bowl as a stand for 2 of the candles. The table runner is a cream colored linen style that works for every holiday and season and I layered it with what appears to be another smaller runner, but is actually a piece of fabric I folded down — for the cost of purchasing a new runner, consider buying a yard of fabric like this for a fraction of the price!
I did a mix of faux and real elements for the centerpiece. The oranges and some of the eucalyptus stems are real from Trader Joes, while the other pieces for faux so those are linked below.
The plates and linens are so versatile — I use them for Christmas and all throughout the year. I have linked similar key items to what I have featured below so you can create a great tablescape for your Thanksgiving!
