Get the Look: Traditional Modern Living Room From Target

If youโre like me, which Iโm quite certain you are, there is never a time you can go to Target and leave empty handed. The real struggle is if you go there looking for basic, no-frill items and have to walk past the Home section and resist the urge to stop. But it is always worthwhile to check out. What I love so much about shopping Target for home decor is the variety of styles available for everyone to be able to customize a look that works for their own style. I also love the affordability of updating your home decor without breaking the bank.
For this post, I wanted to share a living room I created featuring all Target home goods and furniture pieces. I call it a traditional + modern look and I styled this room based on my design philosophy of not focusing on one style, but rather curating different pieces that could include different decor styles with the end result being an unique overall look for a room. I featured a woven rug that features red, pale blue, and sage green tones intermixed together. This rug served as a starting point that I used to build the room off of. If warm tones arenโt your thing, there are two other shades of the rug I selected available, as well as a plethora of other colored woven rugs to choose from. I love this brass gold tray because you can style it on a coffee table for a stylish look and also stand it up and use to in styling on a tabletop โ would be great for an entryway !
This brown lumbar velvet pillow is perfect for a sofa or a bed. If you like a more modern, clean look, this one pillow alone is a great way to accessorize a sofa without being over the top with lots of pillows. This is such a great color too!
This room was based around this red floral tufted area rug. I love the rich colors and versatility this rug provides โ you can work it for several different decor styles, or a combined look like I did above.
The perfect way to add color for a coffee table is with this faux red holly berry stem. I used two above to show how you can style it in a vase. And it can be jazzed up for holiday decor, as well!
This blue/white decorative ceramic ginger jar is one of the 3rd party brands unfortunately not available in stores, but it is available online. Ginger jars are great to style with โboth alone as they are or remove the lid and use as a vase as I did above!
No matter your color scheme, you can never go wrong with a great white accent chair . This one is more traditional, but any style of white or cream accent chair would work with this look.
A modern piece like this black round wooden planter works as an actual planter or styled alone like a decorative object. I also like that it is wood to work with the other wood items I selected.

This glass stacked cylinder table lamp is modern, chic, and still perfect for a relaxed living room look.
This black reclaimed wood end table is great because it is modern in style and traditional in material.
This round metal coffee table centers the room well. I like the sleekness it gives.
You can never go wrong with a tray for styling a tabletop and this wood and brass rectangle tray is a good way to dress up a table with the brass featured on the inside.
I like this brown floor lamp that balances out the black tables and works well with the cream seating choices.
