Creating a Neutral Bedroom That is Anything But Dull

The thought of decorating with just neutrals can sometimes sound dull and unexciting. I for one love color and further enjoy mixing prints and patterns together for a room. But there is something that should be said for decorating a room in muted, neutral tones — when done right, it can also be exciting and can work with any style you are going for.

This bedroom design shows just that. If you like a simplistic and/or neutral style for your home decor, this bedroom is a great way to show you how to achieve it. I was going for more contemporary, elegant look that is also relaxing —because that is a given for any bedroom!

A big trend right now in home decor is incorporating earthy and natural elements. This room is a great example of how to utilize artisan crafted pieces or materials to work within an overall style you are going for — the linen bed frame, the textured wood nightstands, the artisan vase, and marble slab bookends are some of the natural elements in work here I wanted this room to have a more sophisticated overall look so I added elements of gold in subtly to achieve that.

TIP: Easily swapping out the ottomans with gold legs for a more contemporary and rustic wood upholstered bench and the gold leaf wall decor for a neutral decorative large bowl or painting would give you a whole different vibe and look, for instance.

I’ve linked all the items featured along with additional options below for creating a bedroom like this below to further inspire you!
