Coffee Table Pieces For Spring Styling

The coffee table is often one of the most occupied spots of a home because of its prime location in the living room. Lately, the words “living room” have never been more accurate and true to reality, as the living room has been the room to relax in, work in, rest in, sit and wonder what to do with yourself in. So the coffee table may be in for an overhaul in the style department.

If you are looking for where to start with filling a coffee table or maybe just want to know the essentials to keep for a timeless look that work AND that you can build from, then I’m happy you’re here. While there are no “right” or “wrong” pieces, there are definitely some that never fail and can be utilized no matter your style (think of it like the core pieces for a wardrobe).

These are some of my favorite pieces that will work right now for spring & summer when we often look to lighten and soften up our home decor. The neutral tones are also great because you can use these core pieces to begin with and build from as desired in your own unique way — adding pop of color, swapping out greenery for flowers, etc. These pieces are also staple pieces that can work year round, which is really the kind of home decor worth investing in, am I right? Like a wardrobe, invest in the essentials to create a look, and build from there as needed!

I’ve rounded up my favorite finds, with multiple options for each key item featured and linked below. Your coffee table is in for a facelift.

1 Hardback Books

A stack of hardback books can instantly help build height for your table. Use the top to display an object for added style. Neutral books are good to work with because they can go with any decor and never go out of style. (Of course, if you like color, a stack of books to compliment your style would look great too.) I’ve linked some good neutral options that can be styled either with or without the book jacket.

2 Stoneware Vase

A great stoneware vase is always a classic piece to bring into your tabletop style. I’ve linked some great options that would work with any style of decor and could be used all throughout the home as well!

3 Decorative Object

Adding a little fun and interest is always a great idea and a unique decorative object is such an easy way to do that. From knotted sculpture pieces to wood objects, adding any one of these will really make a table stand out.

4 Greenery

Bringing a little bit of the outside in can easily be done with foliage and floral stems. It instantly adds life to the table, no matter what kind of greenery you use, and you can make a big impact with just 2 or 3 stems (For bigger statement looks, you can utilize more stems and pair with a mix of greenery for a centerpiece look that lasts all season long). These are some of my favorite faux greenery stems I love that look real:

5 Neutral Decorative Tray

A great decorative tray can help frame a coffee table look. You can find both round or square styles to compliment your table, but you can really use any shape on any shaped table and have it work. Opting for a neutral color one is great to start with, but the style of tray is totally up to you and your style — dress it up or keep it down to earth. I’ve linked some of my favorites that cover all styles and materials.

6 Decorative Box

The beauty of a decorative box is the perfect little accent for any coffee table. You can find both large and small (I like to utilize a large one for storing unsightly remotes and things that take away from a styled coffee table). They are great for adding in some color as well. Here’s some of my favorites:
