A Beautiful Traditional Styled Home Gets Staged to Sell
Home Staging can do wonders for homes lacking style or needing to be updated. Neither was the case for a recent staging project I worked on for a beautiful, classic home in historic Five Points in Athens, Georgia. The homeowners have decorated the home in a mostly traditional style, with bold and interesting contemporary art hung all throughout. This home was a great example of how staging can benefit homes that aren’t necessarily “bad” to start out with. Sometimes just minor touches on a home that already has a good decor established throughout is all that is needed to stage a home a sell — another example of how staging benefits all homeowners, whatever state their home is in.
For this home, I started with a initial consultation , where I walked the home with the homeowner and discussed areas of opportunities in order to make the most impact on potential buyers. I ended up going back to the home for a Staging Day and worked room by room staging & photographing each room so the homeowner was able to update their online home listing with beautiful after photos of each room of their home — another great benefit to the staging process, especially since most people search home listings online before even considering visiting homes in person. I was quite pleased at the amount of work the homeowners were able to accomplish based on my initial feedback from the consultation. It really made the Staging Day a success!
Here are some of my favorite transformations of the home during the staging process :
While every potential homeowner varies on their preference of rooms and need of certain rooms in a home, there are the obvious rooms and/or areas that are standard and impact potential buyers’ feelings on a home. One of those is the breakfast nook / eating area of a home. Practically every potential homeowner looking for a home for their family will want to know where they might be able to eat and have fellowship with their own family.
For this particular project, the homeowners are actually looking to downsize, as they no longer have children in the home. As such, they don’t have a need to monopolize their large breakfast nook space solely for a dining table. As you can see from the before photo, they have a table, but have it situated to the side and share the space with a sofa and 2 wingback chairs. I expressed the need to showcase the area as a main everyday eating area, so we moved the furniture out of the room to really make an impact.
As you can see from the after photo, it is much easier for potential buyers to now visualize their own family enjoying a meal together in that space.
