Adding Texture To A Space With Detailed Furniture & Cabinetry

One trend that is already having a moment and will only continue to going into the new year: textured furniture with reeded or fluted details. This textured carved ribbed look can be seen on furniture like dressers and vanities, and even cabinetry is getting in on the trend for bathrooms & kitchens, as it really creates a stand-out look for a room with interest and style. The notion of “it’s all in the details" really can be emphasized with this trend when you see just how impactful intricate detailing can add to a space.

Go Custom

For a kitchen or bathroom, custom reeded or fluted cabinets can really elevate the space and give it an one-of-a-kind look.

You can even extend your detailed look beyond just the vanity for a bathroom and add cabinetry to your bathroom space — light wood is a great option for adding texture without being overpowering.

And if you’re looking to go bold, why not go all out? Opt for a colored vanity like muted deep green color with reeded details to really create a stand-out look.

And black reeded cabinets can add a modern look, perfect for elevating a kitchen or pantry space.

Go For Reeded or Fluted Furniture

If you aren’t looking to go custom, but still want to bring this trend to your space, adding a beautiful detailed piece of furniture can be just as enhancing. I’m proving my case with some of my favorite ways to help you bring this look into your home.

For the bedroom, a beautiful dresser like this White Kendall Dresser is perfectly chic, adding a touch of modern to this timeless look.

I love this vintage inspired Conrad Reeded Chest that features rich teak wood with reeded detailing for the front of the chest, along with a distressed look all throughout the piece to give it that timeless aged look.

And this Conrad Tall Cabinet is a taller cabinet version that would make a perfect focal point for any space.

Even the most subtle detailing on a desk or console like this Barnes Writing Desk and Pieter Console can add just the perfect amount of texture to an entryway or work space.

And a lovely reeded bedside table like this Lewis 1-Drawer Nightstand is the perfect modern meets vintage look, featuring antique brass hardware to the carved drawer. I also love this Channing Nightstand for another light toned nightstand option.
