How to Create A Stylish Bar Cart

One thing people look forward to with regards to the holidays is entertaining with family and friends. Creating a welcoming and festive home can make for a merry time had by all, where the spirits can keep flowing. Whether you are entertaining a house of people, or just a small gathering of closed ones, styling a bar cart (or bar space) with all the essentials along with some decor add-ons can create a space that goes beyond a basic drink station. I’m sharing how you can create a stylish bar cart, along with my favorite essentials to help you create your own stylish cart look, that can serve you both for the holidays and beyond.

THE BAR CART

For this post, I’m featuring bar cart looks, but if you are without a cart, you can still implement these tips for creating a bar station sans the cart. For alternate options to a bar cart, check out this post for How To Create A Stylish Bar Space Sans The Cart. A great bar cart can not only be convenient for entertaining guests, but can also help to enhance a space, with chic, vintage inspired bar cart options you can opt for. Take this look below. I love the black and brass cart featured in a dining room that is only made better with vintage landscape art hung above.

BARWARE

Adding elegant barware can make even the most simple bar carts much more chic and will serve as great bar cart decor to have on display when not in use. I’m sharing some favorite cocktail sets below with feature bar tool sets paired with cocktail shakers to show how you can go for a matching complete set or mix things up.

1 Gold 5-Piece Bar Tool Set + Gold Cocktail Shaker | 2 Gold Cocktail Party Tool Set + Gold Cocktail Shaker | 3 Bamboo Bar Tool Set + Column Stainless Steel Cocktail Shaker | 4 Mia Bar Tool Set + Hatch Cocktail Shaker | 5 Acacia and Marble Tool Set + Silver Rope Cocktail Shaker | 6 Block 4-Piece Marble Bar Tool Set + Graham Hammered Metal Cocktail Shaker

GLASSWARE

Beautiful glassware an up your mini bar style game. Opting for elegant glassware gives a timeless look to a cart that look great displayed even when not entertaining. Whether you go for classic glasses or for fancy styles, choose one type of glasses to have on display, like this look below, that makes use of a beautiful vintage glass + ice bucket set.

DECANTER

A beautiful glass decanter is a must for any bar cart. You can find an option that compliments your style like the vintage modern look below that features a vintage style glass decanter with glass topper for the perfect old charm to this bar cart.

1 Stud Glass Liquor Decanter | 2 Estate Barware Decanter | 3 Greer Decanter | 4 Crystal Whiskey Decanter | 5 Dial Hand Cut Decanter | 6 Rabbit RBT Wine Decanter

NATURAL ELEMENT

Whether it be a floral arrangement or simple greenery in a vase, adding a natural element to a bar cart gives it a more complete styled look that elevates it beyond just somewhere to serve drinks. You can switch it up depending on the season and/or occasion to incorporate it into your home’s seasonal decor, as well. Adding a tall vase can also balance out those tall wine bottles you choose to display, creating a more cohesive cart look.

ART ELEMENT

While not necessary for crafting a cocktail, adding an art element gives a bar cart an eye-catching look. You can hang an art piece on the wall above the cart or stand a framed art piece directly on the cart itself. I love this look below that takes it up a notch with both an art piece and an artfully designed table lamp. By treating the cart more like a side table, you get this perfectly well-styled look.

And this look makes use of an artfully designed black candelabra and a vintage styled framed art piece for curating this elegant, chic cart look.

FRUIT BOWL

A fruit bowl is great for displaying fruit that may be needed for any custom cocktails you plan on offering. Plus, it adds further interest and style to a bar cart, making your mini bar look even more impressive.

TRAY

If you have a large enough cart, consider adding a tray to the look, which you can style like you would for a coffee table by displaying the best spirits and liquor in your collection or showcasing your beautiful glassware. It can also be utilized as a serving tray, making it most convenient for you to be able to serve your guests.
