There are a lot of trends to get excited for it comes to interior design in the new year. From colors to fabrics & finishes to decor, here are some of my favorite trends that will make their mark in 2025…
01
statement lighting
Standout lighting is in high demand for the new year, going beyond just lighting fixtures & lamps’ functionality and using your lighting choices as a way to really make a statement. Sculptural styles like this MIRU FLUSH MOUNT LIGHT can really add an artistic and interesting element to a space. And for a chandelier, a real eye-catching piece like this COOPER GLASS BUBBLED ROUND CHANDELIER is such a stylish choice that will truly elevate a room. Even on the small scale, a cool and unexpected sconce choice like this ORABELLA OBLONG SCONCE is a great way to enhance a bathroom.

moody hues
Warm brown, maroon, & olive green are just some great examples of the moody and rich hues that will keep going strong this year. Warmer and deeper colors are in style in a big way, and make for an interesting new way to work in earth tones while adding more depth to a space — case in point, this SOLSTICE ROUND END TABLE in a rich dark red marble for a bold and stylish piece to accent a room. For a real moody transformation, consider donning your walls in a patterned wallpaper like this DARK BROWN GARDEN FLOWER WALLPAPER that is timeless yet modern. But if you want a more subtle option, you can never go wrong with a great moody landscape or botanical art piece like this VINTAGE BOTANICAL MOODY ART PRINT to elevate any space.

03
unexpected furniture forms
Another strong trend I’m loving is unexpected furniture forms for the home. No long are you limited to just standard shapes for sofas, chairs, and tables, but you can really add some interest with more curvy and sculptural shaped pieces, like this EMIRA OVAL LIGHT BROWN COFFEE TABLE. In recent years, creating a cozy home became much more of a focus than years past and curvilinear shaped furniture can definitely help you achieve that, making a room feel more inviting & cozy, without sacrificing style. A modern yet timeless sofa like this JODI CHAISE offers the additional benefit of a chaise to show one way to take advantage of this curved trend. It’s also great to mix furniture styles together for a more interesting styled room, such as pairing a tailored sofa with a curved accent chair or even side table, like this MARGOT WHITE ASH WOOD SIDE TABLE.

04
soft & dreamy hues
If moody tones aren’t your thing, you can go a lighter route and take advantage of the trend of soft & dreamy hues. Pastels aren’t what they use to be, and can be utilized in a more sophisticated and subtle way with this soft color palette. Work a mix of these tones altogether with a beautiful art piece like this MOUNTAIN RESERVE FRAMED PAINTING. Or opt for just one hue, like a pale blue gray, for a subtle way to add color to a living room — I love this LOUNGE ACCENT CHAIR for a great way to soften up a living room look.

05
new industrial
A really cool trend on the rise for this year is what I like to refer to as new industrial. It refers to making use of materials —think aged and weathered metals like aluminum, silver, and iron — that are typically seen for industrial styled design pieces and utilizing those materials in a more contemporary way. I love this PADDOCK PENDANT LIGHT for a great example of how to add this trend through a vintage meets modern lighting choice. Even a small dose of aged metal like with this SIMONE METAL TRAY can easily elevate a tabletop or bathroom counter. And you aren’t without ways to make a trend like this fun — I love this WEATHERED ALUMINUM PEDESTAL URN for a cool and artisan style way to display a plant.
