Ah, the linen closet.

Often times it can become an overlooked and unorganized space in a home. And if that DOES happen, the task of organizing it is the LAST thing on a to-do list. But there are so many helpful, nifty ways to tackle the clutter and create order for a linen closet.

I recently transformed a closet that had previously been solely used for linens, but along the way ended up being more of a closet of odds and ends and storage. The goal was to be able to turn it back into a space for all linens, towels, & bedding, making use of stylish bins and baskets to help organize everything.

I have detailed my process with a handy 6 step guide (see below), but first, check out the before & after shots:

If you are looking to tackle your own linen closet, eliminate clutter, and maintain order, check out the below process I used to help you out. You can find bins and baskets at any and every price range. And, for budget options, consider displaying some items as I did with white towels. You could also display white linens and sheets. Doing so would save money with less bins and baskets you may need.

Some of my favorite stores for bins and baskets include:

  • Amazon.com

  • The Container Store

  • Big Lots

  • IKEA

  • Target

What I love about a lot of the items I used are that they are affordable and versatile. As you will see below, all but the first two items used, come in packs of 2 or more so it really made it more cost worthy. The seagrass basket cubes, woven storage bins, and all the canvas storage bins are also collapsible so if you ever find yourself needing less or needing to reconfigure a closet space for more space at times, you can easily collapse a bin or two with no worry of having to store them elsewhere. All the canvas bins also come in different color options to suit your style!
