Best Paint Colors for Staging Your Home To Sell

When it comes to staging your home to sell, there may be some necessary home improvement tasks to tackle first to put your home in the best light. One of those is the paint color within the home.

I’m sharing 9 great colors that not only will work for staging a home sell, but also are great for updating the home. Each of these colors are great options to consider if you are looking to refresh one room or looking for a whole house color option. When you are looking to sell your home, having a consistent color flow throughout will help to put it in the best light to help you sell it faster.

It’s always great to test out a paint color before committing to it, and a great way to do that is with SAMPLIZE that sells 12″ x 12″ peel-and-stick paint samples with an adhesive backing to try out in a space before you fully commit. This makes it so much easier to not only test out a paint color with existing furnishings and the style of home, but also allows you to see it at different times of the day, as lighting will have a profound impact on how paint color appears. Along with sharing my top paint picks below, I’ve included links to try out a SAMPLIZE sample of each so you can test out your favorite options in your own space.

Benjamin Moore- WHITE DOVE (OC-17)

This is a classic creamy white that is a perfect white choice as it works for any doors, trim, cabinets, & ceilings. Being “off-white” makes it an ideal choice to avoid the stark white look that a true white option can present at times. This particular white paint color will come off as welcoming and warm, which is a winning combination when showcasing your space to potential homebuyers. A similar option is EXTRA WHITE (7006) by Sherwin Williams.

02

Sherwin Williams- REPOSE GRAY

This gray color is ideal for walls and well-suited for more contemporary & transitional home styles. It pairs wells with white, black, gray, marble finishes, & furnishings with white trim. This also makes for a great whole house color, as it looks great in all types of lighting. With rooms with a lot of natural light, it will appear as a light, airy, warm gray. But even if you are lacking natural light, Repose Gray will still look appealing and come off as a light neutral gray tone that will still offer warmth to a space.

04

Sherwin Williams- KILIM BEIGE

This paint color is a great mid-tone beige to consider for the walls in the home. Due to its neutral tone, it pairs wells with both warm and cool colors, making it pretty universal for any home. This is a great neutral beige option when you don’t necessarily want to focus on the walls, but rather showcase what’s in a room, as it provides a nice neutral background. For rooms on the darker side, whether because of lack of direct sunlight or due to darker furnishings, this is also a great color choice to highlight the space.

Sherwin-Williams- ANEW GRAY

This is a great mid-tone greige that is similar to Agreeable Gray, but with a bit more depth and slightly darker appearance. It’s great for home staging as it can offer a perfect neutral rich tone that is still soft and warm. And being that it is more of a greige than a true gray, it works well with other colors for creating a cohesive staged space.
